My 2 Cents

My nephew, known for his full head of curly dark red hair, decided to do the Delilah this afternoon by buzzing it all off.

Photo taken in the middle of a basketball game against
Javi. But this is about as excited as he gets. Welcome
to Age 15. I don't look forward to it!

Can you believe the difference? Too bad he hates getting his photo taken. I think he's incredibly handsome (and really, really tall though he doesn't look it sitting down).

Taken after a trip to the barber shop. He looks both older
and more youthful. I love the new look, but he's still
getting used to it. Somebody's growing up!

It's so nice to be able to see his face! The side benefit for him is he no longer has to worry about his frizzy fly-aways. (Doesn't a 15-year-old boy have enough to worry about?)

Since I obviously loving sharing my opinion on other people, go check out my guest post at The Mommy Mambo. Who doesn't want to tear apart the idiots they wind up sitting next to at any of the 800 school assemblies "good parents" are forced to attend?

It's funny how boys, no matter how old, look so grown-up after a haircut. I have the same bittersweet thoughts every time my little guy gets shorn. =>

I'm with you. I like it too.

Love it! My elder grew his hair long in his early teens. Wore it neatly in a pony tail down his back. Was the "pony tail" kid in tie-dye all through high school - then cut it off just before graduation!

I always liked it long, and loved that he knew his own style and stuck to it. I also like it short - and it suits his lifestyle better that way. But the best part - really - was the reaction he got from everyone who couldn't remember what he looked like before the long hair. (Pretty cool stunt.)

Your nephew is handsome either way! (But it looks great short.)

    Wow! What a big difference!

Vast improvement! For real! Tell him Mambo Mommy said so :)

I love the new look. It seems like pretty low maintenance too...

Look at him. The change suits him.

Funny story, that I think you might appreciate. My sister did this just days before my wedding. She was my maid of honoured. Yep, she shaved off all her hair. Much to her chagrin, she didn't get a rise out of me.

I remember when my brother did the exact same thing (minus the red color). I think your nephew rocks the short do! Handsome either way though.

His new buzz cut totally suits him. :)

I laughed when I saw this via FB - then went back to wistfully waiting for the day my little brother (now 24) decides to grow up with a haircut of his own. I've got nothing against his long hair on principle, but it's a wild, crazy mess he won't take care of, and he's handsome with it short! And that's my two cents.
And oh, yeah, I agree - your nephew's new 'do is handsome and grown up.
