Creepy Ass Kids

I have a thing about creepy ass kids. Yes, I call them creepy ass kids even in my mind. Movies with creepy ass kids (e.g., The Shining, The Omen, and other moves on this list)? I'm shuddering as I type.

Knowing that piece of backstory, can you imagine my immediate reaction upon seeing this?

Uh, yeah. The creepiness factor was high.

Of course, being creeped out by my kids is nothing new; they do it to me all the time. I'll wake up to Bella's moon face staring into mine in the wee hours of the morning. She's not talking and she doesn't wake me up. She just stares until I sense her presence. Javi says random things like, "Yep, this is the place where I'll die" when we're out doing total safe things like school supply shopping. It's great.

And, so, today when we dropped by a friend's house and she pulled out a miniature lace dress and veil for Bella to use as dress up clothes, I wasn't at all surprised that my daughter resembled something out of one of those movies where the child winds up being a demon-spirit that haunts characters in their sleep.

Luckily the creepy factor vanished when I convinced her to remove the veil. And then we were right back to normal preschool sass when I told her it was time to get back into her normal clothes.

Nothing like lots of attitude to remind you that your kid's pretty dang normal.

My daughter sometimes stares down from our staircase and I swear it reminds me of that kid in The Omen. My husband and I tell her to stop staring and in seconds she is skipping around, singing and dancing around. The creepy factor instantly vanishes. So I completely understand what you are saying this post.

Hilarious and so cute! But, yeah, that first photo looks like a creapy ass kid for sure! :-)

Hilarious! I both love and hate waking up to the randomly staring child next to my bed. If she wasn't so freaking cute, I'd probably put a lock on the door.

I love that I'm not the only one with a randomly staring child. I was telling someone else about that and she said her kids never did it. I thought maybe I breed creepy ass kids!

    The Others.

That's what she looks like. Nicole Kidman's daughter in The Others. Creepy!
Good movie though. I sometimes worry I might injure my children upon waking and feeling their breath on my face, there big round black eyes glazed over! REDRUM! OOooo and if one of them starts meowing like a cat I might black their eye!

I love that picture of the pout! So much personality!

Lol...sigh, I feel better. Creepy kids creep me the hell out!

My child to likes to come into the room and stare at me in the middle of the night. Ugggh, creepy. I swear I think he's out to get me (no seriously). I am a very light sleeper and can always sense his presence...my first response, um, what cha doinggggg? lol. His response is normally a silent one or "nothing."

We need to bond together and form an alliance!

    Strength in numbers, Keia!
