And today we have these:
Who knows what tomorrow holds.
**This post is part of the 30-minute blog challenge.**
I'd love to hear what you have to say! (If you want an emailed response, be sure to enable email in your Blogger settings -- see a tutorial here.)
Now. Spill it!
How adorable!
Ummm, wow!
I know! Two chicks and two guinea keets. What are we thinking?!
All I've got to say is this--FRESH EGGS! Right?
you're gonna love having chickens! (and i love that you added your chix to your mix pics!)
Now that looks like fun!!!
They are so cute! (Are they loud? Do the kids play with them? What do you DO with them?)
ummmm, ok? You wanted your very own BIRDS???
@CK - Yes, they are loud. The guineas are loudest, but the chicks make steady noise too. I don't know if was the heat lamp or what, but they didn't roost at all last night.
The kids hold them and watch them. We took the guineas outside yesterday to run around and see if they'd eat. They got away from us and we were running around squawking ourselves to get them back. They are going to be trouble! The chicks are very docile and just like to eat.
@Cheri - I know! I remembered that on the way to pick them up, but the Mountain Man said that he built a coop so we were going to have chickens. The time for questions or hesitations had passed. I'm hoping it's not so bad!
so cool!! i would love to do this but we live with a HOA who doesnt allow it. cant wait to move
next up: eggs and
cock-a-doodle doo! (assuming one is male)
That is great! Kudos to you all.
I LOVE my chooks, I love watching them and the sounds they make, I love their eggs - u will NEVER eat supermarket eggs again!!
My DD used to put the chicks in her top pocket in the day and they would even come to their individual names! Needless to say we never had chicken pot pie!!
Enjoy
hugs

Wow - in her pocket? We are still a little scared of them (hurting them, etc) but the kids are getting braver. We're trying to handle them often so they are used to us as adults. The chicks are so much easier to play with than the keets!
Awww!! Baby chicks!!!! Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!
OMG, so cute! I love chicks. Do the kids love them?
